Dziurka od klucza, a well known restaurant from Powiśle, moved to a historic fort in the district of Ursynów. It was quite a challenge to preserve the fairytale character of that cosy romantic restaurant, so strongly associated with Dziurka so far, in the new location in a post-military building curated by an art restorer. The new object is several times larger, and its arrangement is complicated.
The design was made in close collaboration with the Owners, who put a lot of heart and commitment into each restaurant. We warmed the raw interiors of the casemates with Italian hospitality. Right from the entrance, the guests are welcomed by an originally made massive gate with stained glass, and an elegant counter. The doors that decorated the restaurant walls in Powiśle reappeared here in a new form, their shape corresponding with the interior. The heart of the place is an open kitchen, finished with handmade tiles, alongside a pizza zone and a pasta zone, all visible from the main room.
The whole place is full of contrasts: we planted flowers in military ammo chests, we put comfy velour sofas against the background of moro patterned walls, and the raw vaults were contrasted with golden patches of colour and decorative elements. We created genuine magic with respect for the history of the place.
