— Idea

Cinematic Asia in the heart of the city

Sing Sing is a new concept by Marcin Wachowicz — the owner of iconic Warsaw restaurants such as Aioli, Momu, Banjaluka, and MazalTov. The interior design was conceived as a fusion of Asian street aesthetics, cinematic pop culture, and contemporary urban style. Our goal was to create a space that immerses guests in a world of contrasts — from raw industrial materials to vibrant neon lights and posters inspired by the films of Bruce Lee and Akira Kurosawa. The result is an environment that blends the chaotic energy of Asian streets with cinematic storytelling and a touch of nostalgia.

— Process

From concept to experience

Together with the owners, we developed an interior concept in which each zone tells a different story. The two-story space allowed for a clear distinction of functions and moods — from the open, lively ground floor to a more intimate area on the mezzanine. The centerpiece of the design is the bar, positioned opposite the entrance. It serves as the heart of the restaurant — a monumental structure with tall shelves reaching the ceiling, seamlessly flowing into steel elements on the upper level. The inspiration came from the aesthetics of Shanghai’s forbidden venues at the end of the colonial era, with their sensual elegance and subtle decadence.

— Details

A play of light, structure, and symbols

Each part of the restaurant has its own distinct character. To the right of the entrance, there is a communal table — a tall counter surrounded by suspended cherry branches, creating a poetic contrast to the raw materials. Behind a lattice partition at the back of the space, we hid soft booths with upholstered seating, above which hang film posters and neon lights inspired by Asian fairy tales and street culture. The walls are adorned with custom-made graphics, which also appear in the entrance area and restrooms, completing the design and building a cohesive, recognizable identity for the venue.

— Hospitality

Energy that connects

In the Sing Sing project, we focused on hospitality understood as an experience, not just aesthetics. The interior is meant to draw people in, surprise them, and encourage interaction — both with the space and with others. The open layout, communal table, and centrally placed bar foster meetings and the exchange of energy. Every element — from lighting to seating arrangements — was designed to create an atmosphere of ease and intimacy, reminiscent of Asian street eateries. Sing Sing is a space where design doesn’t dominate the guest but subtly guides them, becoming a backdrop for conversations, flavors, and sounds. It is in this balance between form and emotion that true hospitality is born.

Every lover of Asia should visit and experience its uniqueness for themselves. It’s the only place of its kind in Poland, infused with inspirations from across the continent. Guests can enjoy a wide selection of dishes and cocktails, monthly full-moon celebrations, extravagant events, and designer interiors.

Magazyn HIRO

Sing Sing, inspired by Asian culture and countless journeys, creates a new dimension of experience for its guests. Especially in the evening, it evokes the energy of Bangkok, where life pulses 24/7. During the day, it entices with a variety of flavors; at night, it mesmerizes and seduces, transporting everyone to an Asian street filled with neon lights, vibrant colors, and the aromas of exotic cuisine.

Sznyt

Sing Sing is a fusion of entertainment and dining — a kind of theatrical space, because I always say that we create many “stages”: culinary, entertainment, and even exhibition. We aim to offer an alternative to loud music clubs. Sing Sing is a space for people who want to eat well and have a great time. There are no limits — anything can happen here.
