Emotion, sport and architecture

Nines is a unique sports-themed restaurant endorsed by Poland’s top striker, Robert Lewandowski. The venue spans four floors of the historic Warzelni building within the revitalized Warsaw Breweries complex. This five-story structure, a dominant feature of the square, impresses with its form and scale while bringing elegance and the atmosphere of bygone times.

— Process

Challenge

Planning a dining venue in a historic multi-story building is no small challenge. It required perfectly integrating numerous aspects, such as the logistics of food preparation and service, the division of guest and staff areas, installations, and regulatory requirements. As a result, the interior design work for this location took nearly three years and was carried out in parallel with the architectural design and the building’s revitalization.

— Details

From the ring to the stands

The venue is divided into distinct zones: on level -1, you’ll find a true sports bar filled with TVs, neon lights, and sports memorabilia. Its centerpiece is an octagonal bar with video screens, inspired by a boxing ring. Seating areas are arranged around it like spectator stands. The food menu is tailored for genuinely energetic, sports-filled experiences. The ground floor and first floor house the restaurant, which continues to reference sports culture in its design but offers breathing space for those who enjoy sports only occasionally. The menu is more extensive, and the table layout encourages gatherings in larger groups. Level 2 is an event space featuring what are likely the only sports-style stands in Poland (and possibly the world), where guests can watch a match on a big screen. The remaining floors are dedicated to the spacious kitchen and the back-of-house facilities that support the entire operation.

— Hospitality

Creative team, masterful result

The result is a space that is dynamic yet cozy. The retro atmosphere of the pre-war building is contrasted with sporty accents. References to the world of sports can be found everywhere: server trays styled like locker cabinets, color accents inspired by athletic apparel, geometric patterns reminiscent of starting flags or referee shirts, and court lines marked on floors and tables. Sports equipment is also repurposed as decorative elements: a kayak suspended from the ceiling, a badminton shuttlecock installation, and vintage skis on the wall. The final effect is the result of collaboration among many specialists in their respective fields. The interior, menu, and visual and marketing communication all needed to be cohesive and distinctive. It’s especially gratifying that the chosen team worked so well together, creating something everyone can be proud of.

The interior is a blend of modernity and industrial simplicity. High ceilings, brick walls, original lighting, and sports-themed decorations come together to create an eclectic style for the space.

NOIZZ

The interiors feature, among other things, original Omega stadium seats, used in world-famous national and Olympic stadiums as well as F1 racetracks. At NINE’s Restaurant & Sports Bar, you’ll also find seats typically used on team benches. This time, however, they take center stage—as a three-person bench and a single chair, each with the venue’s special “NINE’s” logo embroidered on the headrest.

Architektura Murator

Across four floors, the space includes a two-story restaurant, an original Sports Bar, and a Fan Zone featuring unique football-style stands and an impressive oversized screen. NINE’s is also a true treasure trove of memorabilia celebrating sports history. From its very debut, the venue secured a place among the “stellar team” of culinary and sports hotspots on Warsaw’s map.

PLN Design

Over 1,300 sq. m., soon to be complemented by a year-round fan garden with a fountain at its center. Four levels of the historic 19th-century Warzelni building—the heart of the Warsaw Breweries complex. Each zone offers a different experience, both culinary and for sports fans. Different stories, but the same love for the game.
